If something is said convincingly enough, then we are usually inclined to believe it. Think, for example, how many actors or filmmakers would be out of work if we weren't prepared to have open minds in terms of being convinced. Regarding someone as convincing is one thing. Allowing ourselves to believe wholeheartedly in what we're being told is another. That's where our ability to discriminate comes in handy. Don't be too quick to agree with or support something told to you that makes you feel beholden or obliged to agree with or support it!
